Alcohol Support Worker Alcohol Support Worker Based at: Hastings Hours: 20 hours a week Salary: NJC scale 4 (9) pro rata £10,569.73 Reports to: Recovery Hub Manager Key Relationships: Staff, volunteers, service users, suppliers, admin, visitors, other recovery partners & professionals Closing date: 18th July 2021 at 5pm About ESRA ESRA is a peer led charity its key purpose is to: Help people to start, and sustain recovery from drug and alcohol dependence and avoid relapse Enable people to change their lives by developing their personal, social and community recovery capital Ensure ESRA and its representatives are clear about what ESRA does Ensure people are signposted to the most appropriate treatment services Provide empathetic support to staff, volunteers and service users Understand and be mindful of what support is in the best interests of each individual Support people to be independent and resilient through community support Support people in recovery countywide Job details East Sussex Recovery Alliance is a recovery project working with those in recovery from substance misuse, and their families. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting those on their recovery journey We are looking for someone with lived experience, to work in our Hastings hub. You will provide Recovery support for clients with alcohol addiction, working closely with local hospital detox wards and other recovery partners . You will have a good understanding of the local community to enable signposting, and have a good sound knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and boundaries. You must be a team player. Full training will be provided. Key Tasks 1. Offer support to those in recovery from alcohol addiction 2. Signpost to senior support worker for ongoing support for one to one phone support 3. Identify lack of service taken up as required and escalate if necessary 4. Keep abreast of developments in services, legislation and practice relevant to the relevant client group. 5. Undertake regular welfare calls /keep in touch with clients 6. Signpost clients to appropriate support or services in order to move them on 7. To ensure all monitoring is complete in a timely manner and evaluation of each group is completed 8. Be aware of the ESRA Safeguarding policy and all polices and act accordingly when issues arise 9. Maintain a good local knowledge of services and treatments and service in local area 10. Sign posting for clients and volunteers as required 11. Disseminate information and advisory materials 12. Raise awareness of the impact of substance use on mental and physical wellbeing, families, employment, quality of life 13. Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others 14. Promote equality and value diversity 15. Contribute to protecting people at risk 16. Maintain knowledge and information resources and help others to access and use them Requirements You must at least 18 months into your Recovery journey.
