Lottery Lifeline for Hastings

East Sussex Recovery Alliance based in Hastings is celebrating  after being awarded £280.200 in funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK. East Sussex Recovery Alliance will use their funding to support people who are in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction in the Hastings and surrounding areas.

This new National Lottery funding will enable the Recovery hub in Hastings to continue offering services to over 100 clients each year for the next 3 years. We offer a range of groups and activities including SMART Recovery groups, one to one support and peer support. We also offer a number of therapeutic activities including art, yoga, access to the gym, which help with people’s health and well-being. We have a recovery café which offers low cost healthy meals for our clients, where clients can drop in helping them to maintain their recovery from their addiction. National Lottery players raise over £30 million a week for good causes across the UK. The National Lottery Community Fund distributes a share of this to projects to support people and communities to prosper and thrive.

ESRA is now able to meet upcoming challenges better equipped, and with confidence in the future, thanks to funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund. This is being distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, and has been made possible by the Government.

The Lottery funding, along with another generous grant from MIND, will help us to hire new people, to get the necessary PPE, and to ensure that our service is fit for purpose going forward.

One of our most recent donation comes from The National Lottery Awards For All.

Other recent grants have come from Hastings charity Magdalen and Lasher and the Chalk Cliff Trust.

Shoutout to Andy at Aldi in Ore

Twice a week, Andy at Aldi in Ore makes it possible for us to pick up goods that they would otherwise have to dispose of. This includes food for the cafe, and an assortment of other goods and groceries that we make available to our clients. We appreciate every single pickup.
